CHARITIES

Step Up Parents provides financial assistance to kinship caregivers in New Hampshire and Southern Maine who are raising the children of parents with substance use disorder. Even heroes need a hand.  Kinship caregivers are relatives or friends who step up to care for, nurture and protect children who find themselves without a responsible parent or safe place to live. For these caregivers, the most immediate need is often financial. Step Up Parents responds by striving to meet every family’s individual needs, whether it is aid with the cost of daycare, clothing, baby supplies, music lessons, legal fees or a special camp for a struggling child.   Stepupparents, org

HOLIDAY FAIR

One of our largest fundraisers will be here soon, the Holiday Fair, Saturday, November 8th 9:00-3:00 We need all of you to pull out your recipe boxes and find your favorite recipe(s) and bake something for our Bake Table, it can be anyone of the following items such as: cake, cookies, pie, breads such as pumpkin, cranberry, banana, zucchini. Or anything else you would like to make.....let those creative juices flow and create something you have never made before. Everyone's help is needed to pull this Holiday Fair off and make it our most successful one to date. Do not forget it, put it on your calendar as you read this. Your goodies can be dropped off at the First Parish Church of York, Pilgrim Hall, 180 York St., York, ME either on Friday, November 7th between 5:00-8:00 or Saturday, November 8th BEFORE 8:30. Please make sure you wrap your creations up to keep them fresh. If you could send a text message to Yvonne Chainey at 603-502-2615 to tell us what you are creating, it would be helpful. Big Big Thanks from Holiday Fair Committee Members.
